Q. What time is check in/out?

Check in is at 3:00pm. Check out is at 11:00am.

Q. How far from Fairbanks is the Lodge?

We are about a 20-25 minute drive from the Fairbanks airport, and a 15 minute drive from downtown.

Q. Does the Lodge have cooking facilities for the guests to use?

In the Main Lodge we do not have a kitchen for guest use, but there is a refrigerator and microwave for guests in the dining area. However, the Log House, the Spruce House and the Cottage have full kitchens.

Q. Do you have internet service?

We have limited WiFi available. Wireless phone receptions are at 4G LTE speeds. There is also a computer and printer in the main dining room available for guest use.

Q. We are celebrating a special occasion while staying with you. Can we arrange to have flowers, champagne, gift baskets, etc., put in our room before arrival?

Yes, we can arrange all of that. Just give us a call in advance.

Q. Do all the rooms at A Taste of Alaska Lodge have hairdryers?

Yes.

Q. When do you get snow at the Lodge?

Normally, we get our first snow that “sticks” in October. Sled dog tours typically begin in November, depending on snowfall and trail condition.

Q. Do you have cold weather gear for guests to use?

Yes, we have cold weather gear for our guests to rent. Our outfits include snow boots, snow pants, and a parka, for $15 a day. If you are looking to buy winter gear in Fairbanks, we have several outdoor stores. Or, if you are not looking to not spend a lot of money, try Value Village or The Salvation Army when you arrive in Fairbanks. Both thrift stores have a large selection of outdoor gear, for travelers on a budget.

Q. Do you have laundry facilities for guest use?

We don’t have a washer and dryer for guests to use themselves, but we can do laundry for you for $15 a load.
